SYRACUSE UNIVERSITY Setnor School of Music seeks an Assistant Professor of Music Industry, tenure-track position beginning August, 2017. The Department of Music and Entertainment Industries of the Setnor School of Music seeks an innovative music industry specialist to join our faculty. The Music Industry program has witnessed unprecedented growth and is renowned for its 35 years of placing highly qualified graduates into the marketplace in every aspect of the business. Responsibilities: teaching core curriculum courses in music business and music industry and the media; ability to teach sound recording technology curriculum a plus. Officiating over music industry forums, mentoring and coordinating student internships, participating in curriculum planning, assessment and new course development. Other responsibilities: academic advising for both music industry majors and minors and participating in faculty governance and service. A mentor will be assigned to advise and guide the successful applicant. Qualifications: master's degree in music with documented music businesses experience of at least 3 years or a bachelor's degree in music business, followed by a master's in a business or technical field with documented business or technical field experience of at least 3 years.
