RANK/SALARY: Professor of Practice or Lecturer. Salary commensurate with experience. Final appointment is contingent upon funding. These are non-tenure track positions.
DUTIES: Teach commercial voice to music and/or music education majors; develop and direct vocal jazz, and/or pop ensemble(s). Additional assignments may include courses related to songwriting, commercial music, music technology, music recording, music business; and in other area(s) of expertise.
QUALIFICATIONS: The department seeks applications from candidates who have interest in and experience with commercial voice, vocal jazz, songwriting, music recording, music entrepreneurship, music leadership, and/or other non-traditional career models. Lecturer Minimum Requirements: Master's degree in voice performance at time of employment and professional level of artistry as a singer is required. Professor of Practice Minimum Requirements – a distinguished professional career with significant professional experiences. Experience in directing vocal jazz or pop ensembles is strongly desired. Prior successful teaching and performance experience at the college/university level are desired. The candidate selected for this position must be able to meet eligibility requirements to work in the United States at the time the appointment is scheduled to begin and be able to continue working legally for the proposed term of employment. Excellent communication skills are required.
