The President is responsible for presiding over all meetings, submitting a report at the annual meeting (part of the MEIEA Summit), leads the board in programming content for the MEIEA Summit and ensures all orders and resolutions of the Executive Board are carried into effect. During meetings the President does not make motions but guides the MEIEA Board through their duties. This position requires a commitment of approximately 5-7 hours per week of service to the organization. 

The Vice-President performs functions of the office of the President in his/her temporary absence, supervises the elections committee, provides primary leadership in the selection of and negotiations with the Summit hotel, including but not limited to room rates and conference facilities, executing the food and beverage contract and manages A/V rentals at the Summit. The Vice President also performs duties as assigned by the President and/or the Executive Board. This position requires a commitment of approximately 3-5 hours per week of service to the organization. 

General Board Members may be responsible for some of the following duties: awarding research grants, awarding student enrichment grants, completing MEIEA Summit duties as assigned, including but not limited to food selection, registration SWAG, secure and/or serve as session moderator, creation of a program for the MEIEA Summit, recruitment of guest speakers, panelists, etc. for MEIEA Meets! or the MEIEA Summit, serve on an election committee, or assist with distribution of our MEIEA Journal. This position requires a commitment of approximately 2-3 hours per week of service to the organization.
