The University of Miami Frost School of Music is accepting applications for a full-time Lecturer in Music Industry, beginning in the Spring 2024 Term. The successful candidate will have a solid record of experience in the music industry, with a minimum of 3 years of professional experience. The successful candidate will also have experience either teaching at the collegiate level, or making presentations to groups of people in a business setting. The salary is competitive.

The appointee will teach undergraduate music industry/music entrepreneurship introductory/survey courses, usually to groups of 30-60 students. The appointee is not required, but is encouraged, to remain actively involved in the music industry. The appointment is a non-tenure-track, renewable nine-month appointment at the rank of Lecturer, Music Industry.

Qualifications:

• Demonstrated experience in the music industry (at a record label, music publisher, music licensing organization, or artist management company)
• Demonstrated experience either teaching at the collegiate level, or in making presentations to groups of people
• A Master’s degree in music, music industry/business, or business, or a JD in law is required; or another relevant degree combined with significant professional experience in music industry
