Job Summary/Basic Function

The Department of Recording Industry at Middle Tennessee State University invites applicants for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position (#145210) at the rank of assistant/associate professor In Music Business. The start date for the position is August 1, 2022. The position is contingent upon funding.

The successful candidate will be committed to excellence in both teaching and research/creative activities and be expected to teach recording industry courses in popular music and American media studies such as, but not limited to, History of the Recording Industry, and other courses within the program pertaining to the discipline.

Required Education

Terminal degree in Recording Industry or a related field by appointment date. A Master’s degree in Recording Industry or a related field with at least five (5) years of industry experience may be considered in lieu of the terminal degree.

Other Desirables

Candidates holding a doctorate, significant industry experience, and/or those with university teaching experience will receive special consideration as will applicants with evidence of teaching excellence in the form of evaluations by students and/or peers.
