The Mike Curb College of Entertainment & Music Business at Belmont University is seeking applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor, beginning August 1, 2023.

Job responsibilities include teaching undergraduate courses specifically oriented toward streaming, digital marketing, digital assets, strategies, and social media, or touring, concert promotion, booking, and ticketing. Comprehensive knowledge of the music industry is required, and knowledge of international markets is a plus. Courses taught may include Data Analytics, Digital Music Marketing, Entrepreneurship in the Music Industry, Marketing in the Music Industry, Record Company Operations, Social Media in Artist Management, or Concert Promotion and Booking.  The ideal candidate would develop new courses and improve existing courses that recognize the changing landscape of the music business and how the industry can rapidly adapt to technological advancements.  Additional responsibilities include academic advising, student mentoring, scholarly activity, and college and university service.  J.D., Ph.D., Ed.D. or Doctorate of Business Administration is preferred.  Master’s degree or progress toward a terminal degree is required.  Teaching experience is strongly preferred.  As all Belmont undergraduates complete an innovative general education program with significant interdisciplinary components, Belmont University is particularly seeking applicants who can demonstrate the interest and ability to work collaboratively in course design and to teach interdisciplinary and topical courses in this program.  For additional information about the position and to complete the online application, candidates are directed to https://jobs.belmont.edu. Primary Job Functions:

(I)         Teach 24 credit hours per year.
(ii)        Advise and mentor students.
(iii)       Engage in activities to support the mission and vision of Belmont University and the Music Business Department.
(iv)       Engage in scholarly activity, research and professional development.
(v)       Engage in college, university and community service.
(v)       Participate in departmental, college and university committee work as deemed appropriate.
