Nine-month non-tenure-track faculty position in the Rudi E. Scheidt School of Music beginning August 2025.

Teaching duties include undergraduate general music courses, and other courses as determined by the School of Music. Musicians with all types of commercial music experience, especially voice, piano, music technology and business, are encouraged to apply. The accomplishments of candidates for this position must reflect their commitment to working with a diverse student population, and their ability to contribute in meaningful ways to the academic goals of the university.

Master’s degree in music or related field must be completed by the employee start date. Evidence of prior teaching experience and student successes is preferred.

Degree programs include: Bachelor of Music in performance, music history, composition, music education, music business, recording technology, jazz and studio music performance, jazz and studio music composition/arranging; Master of Music in performance, musicology, Orff-Schulwerk, music education, pedagogy, jazz and studio music, composition and conducting; Doctor of Philosophy in musicology and music education; Doctor of Musical Arts in performance, composition, and conducting. The Music and Entertainment concentration is a satellite of the Commercial Music department at the Rudi E. Scheidt School of Music. Students in this concentration earn a Bachelor of Arts in Music. It is a program fusing general music studies, music business, music technology, and performance practices together. The concentration is designed to also provide students with the fundamentals and knowledge to gain employment in the entertainment field.
